NADRA Online Services for CNIC, NICOP, POC & Application Tracking
Pak ID is Pakistan's digital identity service that enables citizens to access various identity-related services online. It provides a convenient way for eligible Pakistani citizens and overseas Pakistanis to apply for or manage identity documents without always needing to visit a physical office.
Pak ID is associated with NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) and supports digital applications for identity-related services.
Through the platform, users can access services such as:
Users can create an account, provide the required information, upload necessary documents and complete the applicable verification process. Depending on the service, biometric or other verification requirements may apply.
The application can then be monitored through the available online tracking facilities.
Register on the Pak ID platform with your personal information
Submit required details and upload necessary documents
Complete biometric or other verification requirements
Monitor your application status through online tracking
People searching for "CNIC tracking" are usually asking about one of two different things. PAKIT keeps them separate here because the method is different for each, and mixing them up is a common source of confusion.
If you've already applied for a new or renewed CNIC/NICOP and want to know where it is in processing, per ARY News (Aug 2026), you have three confirmed options:
Note: the same report says NADRA destroys ID cards that go uncollected for three months after their final delivery date — another reason to check status and collect promptly.
If instead you want to verify the details or authenticity of a CNIC that's already been issued (not track a pending one), reporting from ProPakistani describes doing this via NADRA's official e-ID portal (id.nadra.gov.pk, through its paid Verisys service) or by sending your CNIC number, without hyphens, via SMS to 7000.
A note on this one: that reporting is from 2022, and NADRA's services and short-codes can change over time — PAKIT couldn't find a more recent independent source confirming the 7000 short-code is still active. Treat it as likely-correct-but-unconfirmed, and if it doesn't work, use the portal link above or NADRA's official helpline instead.
PAKIT could not find a NADRA source stating separate processing-time estimates for normal versus urgent/executive CNIC applications, so we're not publishing a number here — ask at the point of application if timing matters to you.
One more option worth knowing: NADRA has been piloting CNIC renewal and reprint at select e-Sahulat shop franchises, so you may not need a NADRA office visit at all for a renewal. PAKIT has a separate guide covering which e-Sahulat outlets actually offer this and how to check before you go — coverage is still limited, not nationwide.
